VISITORS to the weekend’s Hadleigh Show will be given the chance to uncover the history of the Stour Valley.
As part of the event at Holbecks Park on Saturday, a stand dedicated to identifying local finds is encouraging people to bring any archaeological items of interest with them.
Carenza Lewis, of Channel 4’s Time Team, will be on hand to cast her expert eye over any finds and, along with members of the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty & Stour Valley Project Team, will also be taking part in an archaeological dig.
Group project manager Simon Amstutz said: “We would really like people to bring along their local archaeological finds to our stand for identification.”
The stand is part of a community archaeology scheme in the Stour Valley called Stripping back the layers and is funded by the Heritage Lottery scheme.
Gates for Hadleigh Show open from 8am to 6pm.
