A TEAM of volunteers were out in Clare last week laying the foundations for what could be another award winning feat of horticultural prowess.
Last week a team of volunteers were out planting tulips, daffodils, pansies and narcissi in planters, while earlier in the month 1,500 crocus bulbs were planted in Nethergate Street and another 1,000 on the green between the Cock Inn and The Globe in Callis Street.
Jane Haisman, from Clare in Bloom Committee, said: “We have some really good people who come out and help us plant. There must have been about 15 people with us on Thursday.”
In September, Clare won the Anglia in Bloom large village category for the first time, receiving a prestigious Silver Gilt Award. The Nuttery also came out on top in the Conservation Project category.
