An Essex engineering company is launching its second recruitment drive this year.

Maycast-Nokes, based in Factory Lane West, Halstead, took its workforce to more than 150 after it recruited 25 new members of staff in April.

Now, due to continued growth it is looking to recruit a further 10 skilled workers.

Maycast-Nokes specialises in the manufacture of high quality precision castings and is on course to achieve its highest ever turnover of £6.5m this year.

The continued success, particularly in the aerospace market, means the company needs to recruit more staff.

Dave Blower, the company’s sales director, said: “Over the past two years the order book has remained full.

“Due to recent orders, we need to recruit people with more specific skills, such as foundry production engineers and mechanical inspectors.

“We are delighted with our continued growth. We recruit nearly all our staff from within a 20-mile radius, so our success is good news for the local economy.”
