An 11-year-old from Long Melford has had 12 inches of her hair cut off for charity

Ellie Biggadike had her hair cut for the Little Princess Trust which provides real hair wigs to children who suffer hair loss due to cancer treatment.

Luckily for Ellie she was in the capable hands of her aunty Laura, a hair dresser, who did the cutting.

With money still coming in, Ellie, who goes to Ormiston Sudbury Academy, has raised around £900 for the charity.

She decided to have hair cut and thought she could use it as an opportunity to help others. She raised the money to help children going through hair loss as each wig costs £350 to make.

Her grandmother Julie Murcott said: “All of her family are very proud to think she has done something like this for other people.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to Howies Burger Van and Long Melford Post Office who had pots for donations.

“Thank you to everyone else who donated to make this so successful for Ellie.”
