Sudbury bands to go head-to-head

BANDS will fight it out for the chance to play alongside Wheatus at a Sudbury music festival.

Sudbury Upper School will host its third annual Battle of the Bands competition from 7pm tomorrow, with the winners being handed the opening slot at LeeStock on June 3, which will be held at AFC Sudbury’s MEL Group stadium in memory of Sudbury musician Lee Dunford, who died of cancer in 2006.

James Tuck, head of music at the school, said: “The Battle of the Bands gives our students an excellent opportunity to be heard by the public, as well as raising funds for the excellent work done by the Willow Foundation.”

Tickets for the competition cost £3.
