Pupils at Hadleigh Community Primary School spent a day skipping earlier this month to raise vital money for their school while getting some exercise.

The children took on the ‘Skip 2 Fit’ challenge using special ropes which counted the number of skips they did, allowing everyone to set themselves targets for the number they could reach during the day and collecting sponsorship money from friends and family.

Teacher Leah Bewsher said: “A great day was had by all – encouraging fitness, healthy competition between the children and year groups.

“Even the teachers got involved, often having a second go to try to beat their colleagues’ score.”

The event raised a total of £1,800 for school funds.
