WARM WELCOME: Pupils from Bulmer St Andrews Primary School and headteacher Ellena Mortimer gave visitors a taste of life at the school during their open day last week.

PARENTS of prospective pupils were given an insight into life at a village school during an open day on Wednesday.

Bulmer St Andrews Primary School invited visitors to have a look around to see whether the school would be suitable for next September’s new starters.

Headteacher Ellena Mortimer said: “It went really well. We had quite a few parents and grandparents come to look around.

“We wanted people to see the school in operation as it would be normally.”

The open day consisted of a tour around the school, along with exhibitions showcasing its fortnightly forest school activity mornings, school dinners and music programmes.

“We had lots of comments that it was a lovely school and had a warm atmosphere,” said Mrs Mortimer.
