Youngsters at St Joseph’s Primary School in Sudbury were jumping for joy after receiving a £5,000 Lottery grant.

The money, which has been spent on new play equipment, including a climbing wall, circus equipment and footballs, was handed over as part of the Awards For All scheme. The school’s PTA applied for the grant to improve children’s play time.

“This equipment will help enhance pupils’ social skills and motor skills,” said head of school Lydia Bowles.

“The children were delighted to get it and couldn’t wait to get their hands on the new equipment.”
