A SUDBURY student registered a near-perfect interview score on his way to being crowned the top young apprentice at a work skills day.
Sudbury Upper School pupil Mitchell Weavers, 15, was awarded 29 out of 30 for his mock interviews with employers from the construction industry at West Suffolk College’s Work Ready event.
The school sent 22 Year 11 construction pupils, who were joined by 30 West Suffolk College Year 2 students for the day.
“I was excited when I found out I’d won, and a bit shocked,” said Mitchell, who lives in Tudor Road.
He won the chance of work experience at one of the employers at the event, as well as a goody bag with a tape measure, calculator and other items used in construction.
Pupils were given advice on applying for jobs and interview technique before two mock interviews with representatives from construction companies.
