Children’s audience with an orchestra

Great Waldingfield Primary School pupils were treated to an afternoon of music and melody when musicians from the City of London Sinfonia orchestra visited on Monday.

The Saplings reception class has been learning about instruments and orchestral music by taking part in lullaby workshops for the last three weeks.

Class teacher Julia Arthurs said: “They have really enjoyed it – it’s been fantastic.”

Claire Bloor, from the orchestra, added: “The project takes classical music into rural areas where it may not get heard so much.”

The orchestra will perform in St Peter’s in Sudbury on Wednesday, October 31. For more information and tickets, call Sudbury Tourist Information Centre on 01787 881320.
