Ormiston Sudbury Academy marked its first anniversary with a series of events as its principal said she is looking for continued success.

Former paralympic swimmer Fran Williamson visited the school to help plant an oak tree to mark the occasion, while Year 11 student Tom Mason buried a time capsule with memorabilia from the academy’s first year, including uniforms, newsletters and a prospectus.

Principal Caroline Wilson said: “We have created a strong sustainable education establishment which is gaining status in our community and beyond.”
