Hundreds of women have pledged to don their pyjamas and bunny ears for the eagerly-anticipated Girls Night Out charity walk in Bury St Edmunds.

More than 455 fund-raisers have already signed up for the annual moonlight walk on September 12, which consists of either an 11.2 mile or six mile route around the town in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care.

The numbers are already more than at the same time last year, which eventually saw a record-breaking 1,500 women raise £150,000 for the hospice. Organisers say there has never been a better time to sign up as all entries received by May 31 will qualify for a reduced early bird registration price of £10 - registration after this date costs £15.

Jenny Baskett, hospice events and challenges fund-raiser, said: “I’d like to encourage anyone thinking about taking part to register now while the early bird offer is still on. Ask your friends, family and colleagues to join you - we are already busy planning the night itself and we hope it will be better than ever, with a great atmosphere for everyone taking part.”

Registration forms are available from the hospice or its shops in Bury, Sudbury, Newmarket, Haverhill, Thetford, Mildenhall and Brandon. Sign up online at www.stnicholashospice.org.uk
