Drink-drive simulator

THE dangers of speeding and drink driving will be demonstrated at a town centre car park tonight.

Drivers are being encouraged to attend an event at the Kingfisher Leisure Centre car park in Sudbury as police showcase the consequences of driving too fast and while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

“Residents have complained about noise and problems caused by some drivers in the town and we are trying to address that by educating people with something they will remember,” said Pcso Carly Bignell, from Sudbury and Great Cornard Safer Neighbourhood Team.

A drink-drive simulator will be present at the event, which runs from 7pm to 9pm, and a car, which will be cut apart to demonstrate the potential impact of driving dangerously, has been donated.

Police officers will also be providing safety checks on vehicles, with car stickers being handed out to those who attend and show their vehicle is safe.
