From Harry Potter to Disney princesses, a whole host of characters could be seen at Woodhall Community Primary School on Friday as the school took part in World Book Day.

The event acted as a precursor to the school’s own book week next week. Activities will include reading cafés with parents and a story-telling day with an actor.

Thomas Gainsborough School in Great Cornard was also busy on World Book Day, with a Key Stage 3 story-sharing session. The library held a team book quiz and there was a competition to write an original quote to inspire others to read.
