A NEW venture running drawing classes in Sudbury opens today.

The Drawing Room in Walnut Tree Lane will run still life drawing, themed drawing and after-school sessions every Thursday.

The classes have been set up by businesswoman and graphic artist Vanessa Laws, along with artist and theatre designer Clare Birks.

Mrs Birks, who has worked as a freelance arts practitioner in schools throughout the region, said she believed the sessions, in Room 3 of the Granary, would provide something for all.

“The Drawing Room will be a hub for anyone interested in drawing, both amateur and professional, to attend sessions and classes, exchange ideas and display work,” she said.

On the first Friday of every month at 7pm, artists will be invited to come along and talk about their work.

For more information, including times and cost, call Mrs Birks on 07587 095054 or go to www.drawing-room.org.
