Dog website to raise cash

A NEW website for dog owners is hoping to raise £250,000 for animal charities this year.

My Dog World, which has offices in Alexandra Road, Sudbury, offers dog owners the chance to save money on items such as dog food, treats and beds, through a price comparison service.

The website, which was recently launched, donates a percentage of its sales to animal-related good causes.

The site also provides information on rehoming and rescue dogs, as well as details on how to educate owners about training and behaviour.

Stuart Reed, founder of the company, said: “We wanted to think of a way that we could give money to dog-related charities and good causes without having to ask site visitors for more money than they would spend on the purchase of their items.

“The charities benefit and customers can feel good about buying because they know they are getting the best price for goods and making a difference to dog welfare.”

Mr Reed added that the company was aiming to achieve enough sales to give £250,000 to charities in 2012.
