Playtime at a village primary school is being ruined by dog owners who fail to clean up after their pets, according to a headteacher.
Great Waldingfield Primary School headteacher Tina Hosford has pleaded with residents to keep their dogs under control and to pick up any mess on the field, which is shared by the school and the village.
“There’s not a day that goes by without one or two children getting it on their feet,” said Mrs Hosford.
“Obviously, we check the field but it’s difficult to spot. I don’t think dog owners recognise the dangers.”
Mrs Hosford said requests to the parish council for an area to be fenced off had so far been unsuccessful.
