A former doctor has donated a piece of potentially life-saving equipment to Monks Eleigh Community Shop.

Retired GP Gerald Gould, from Sudbury, was on hand to present the defibrillator he paid for in memory of his wife, Leila, on Wednesday.

Bryan Panton, from the East of England Ambulance Service, was on hand to give a demonstration. The equipment is used to treat heart attack victims.
