Glemsford Emergency Planning Team has successfully applied to the British Heart Foundation for a potentially life-saving defibrillator.
The team is now awaiting delivery of the defibrillator which will be sited in Hunts Hill Stores.
The defibrillators are being made available to communities through Department of Health funding.
The village will receive a training pack which includes DVDs and inflatable manikins, to run training sessions.
Jenny Brown, who put in the application, said: “I believe this is another step towards being prepared for an emergency in Glemsford.”
