A planning application to partially demolish a former mill building in Glemsford and replace it with 10 new homes will be decided next week.
The revised proposal for the former silk factory in Chequers Lane proposes to demolish the mill buildings while retaining the manager’s house and office.
The site will then be redeveloped to provide 10 houses.
Glemsford Parish Council has supported the demolition of the mill buildings, but objected to the redevelopment on the grounds of highways issues.
Council chairman Michael Brown said: “The main issue is the width of the road. It is a very, very narrow road and there is no footpath.”
The planning officer has recommended that Babergh District Council’s planning committee approves the application when it meets on Wednesday.
