Two people have been charged after an attempted burglary in broad daylight in Great Cornard.

Police were called after a resident reported seeing two people jump over a gate in Pot Kiln Road on Wednesday at 2.55pm.

Officers from Sudbury attended and made two arrests.

Upon further inspection, they found that attempts had been made to force open windows and doors at a nearby property.

Simon Loveridge, 20, from Ipswich, has been charged with attempted burglary and two counts of assaulting a police officer. He is due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday, May 20.

The other person charged was a 16-year-old boy from Haverhill who was due to appear before magistrates on Tuesday, June 10.
