Sudbury woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

A 46-year-old Sudbury woman was arrested last night (Thursday) after a 43-year-old woman was stabbed.

Police were called just after 11.15pm to reports that a woman had arrived at the West Suffolk Hospital with several stab wounds to her upper body.

The 43-year-old told officers she had been stabbed sometime earlier in the evening and police established that the incident had occurred in Sudbury. Two areas in Cavendish Way and one in Hoxter Way are currently cordoned off as the investigation continues.

The woman is being assessed at hospital and undergoing scans to determine the extent of her injuries.

The 46-year-old woman, from Sudbury, was arrested a short time later and she is currently in custody where she will be interviewed by officers on suspicion of attempted murder.
