Police hunt phone thief

POLICE are appealing for information after a man had his mobile phone stolen in Long Melford.

The man was walking near the car dealership at Rodbridge Corner at around 7.30am on Thursday when he was approached by a man who asked for a cigarette.

The victim took his phone out of his pocket in order to reach his cigarettes and the thief took the phone and ran off towards the picnic site.

He is described as white, around 21 years old, 5ft 7in tall and of large build. He was wearing a baseball cap, white jacket and black jeans.
