No action over death

POLICE have decided not to prosecute anyone for the death of a 92-year-old woman from a Great Cornard care home last year.

Daisy Castell, who was a resident at Mellish House, on King’s Hill, died in West Suffolk Hospital on June 25 having been admitted after an incident at the care home on June 4.

A post-mortem examination established that the cause of her death was a head injury.

A police spokeswoman said: “Following a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Daisy Castell on June 25, 2011, and a review carried out by the Crown Prosecution Service, a decision has been made that it is not in the public’s interest to take the investigation any further and prosecute.”
