A Newton man has appeared in court to plead not guilty to a string of alleged sexual offences.
Alan Wood, 69, of Airey Close, Newton, was told by a judge at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday that his trial – expected to last for up to five days – was due to start on August 8.
Wood pleaded not guilty to one offence of rape, three of indecency with a child and seven of indecent assault.
His son, Paul Wood, 39, of Station Road, Woodville, Derbyshire, pleaded not guilty to 19 offences of indecent assault and one of attempted rape. He is due to stand trial on July 4. The hearing is expected to last for up to 10 days.
Judge David Goodin released both men on bail until their next court appearance.
