A driving instructor from Great Waldingfield will appear in court later this month charged with drink-driving.

Philip Devereux, 64, from Branston Close, was involved in a two-car crash in Fornham Road, Bury St Edmunds, on October 5 at 4.30pm while a pupil was driving.

He was charged with being nearly twice the legal drink-driving limit after he was breathalysed following the crash.

Devereux, who operates as Great Waldingfield School of Motoring, has not yet entered a plea and has been released on police bail to appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 29.
