Five have bail extended in laptop theft case

Five Essex men arrested in connection with the theft of laptops from 29 Suffolk schools have had their bail extended.

In April, £20,000 of laptops and computer equipment was stolen from Kersey Primary School while, in March, 14 laptops worth around £5,600 were stolen in a break-in at Monks Eleigh Primary School.

A total of 264 laptops, worth an estimated £100,000, have been stolen from Suffolk schools in the last year.

Two 25-year-old men and a 22-year-old man, all from Frinton-on-Sea, a 21-year-old man, from Jaywick, and a 22-year-old man, from Great Oakley, will return to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on September 3.
