A woman accused of causing death by careless driving has appeared at Ipswich Crown Court.

Tracey Wright, 49, is alleged to have been the driver of a Honda Jazz car which was involved in a collision with a pedestrian in Head Lane, Great Cornard, on March 21 last year.

The pedestrian, Christine Ward, 74, died while being taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.

On Tuesday, Wright, of Cross Street, Sudbury, appeared before Judge John Devaux for a preliminary hearing.

Wright was told that she must return to the same court on May 8 for a plea and case management hearing.

Judge Devaux said Wright would continue to be granted bail until her next court appearance.
