Cornard man on air rifle charge

A GREAT Cornard man is to stand trial for threatening a police officer with an air rifle.

Jason Parker, 21, of Maldon Court, appeared at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court last week charged with possession of an air rifle with the intent to cause fear of violence against Jake Lees in Sudbury on April 7.

He was released on unconditional bail with his trial due to start at Ipswich Crown Court today.

Parker was also fined £120, with a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs for possession of cannabis, with no separate penalty for possession of dihydrocodeine and codeine phosphate tablets, having pleaded guilty to both offences.
