A quantity of commemorative coins and vintage copper coins were stolen after someone broke into a home at Cordell Place in Long Melford yesterday afternoon.

It’s thought the burglary occurred around 3.20pm on Thursday May 21. Police were alerted after it was noticed that damage had been caused to the property and officers attended to find the home had been broken into and a search had been made.

It appears the coins were the only items stolen.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area around this time yesterday or anyone with information about the burglar or burglars to call Bury St Edmunds CID on 101, quoting crime reference SU/15/1155.
