Cash machine torn from wall

A MAN has been arrested after a cash machine was ripped from the wall of a petrol station in Sible Hedingham.

The ATM was stolen from Total service station in Swan Street at around 3am on Tuesday.

Police were called to the garage after reports a van was being used to rip it from the wall.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “Police located a van on the A131 which failed to stop for officers and was pursued along the A120 and stopped near Stansted.

“A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft and failing to stop for police.”
