Burglars stole cigarettes and cash after breaking into a shop in Nayland this morning (Wednesday).

Two men broke into Village Stores in Bear Street at around 4.15am, causing the alarm to sound.

Cigarettes and a till containing cash were stolen and the offenders were seen driving off in an ‘old-looking’ Volvo with no headlights towards the A134.

They are described as both around 6ft tall, of medium build and wearing dark hooded tops and balaclavas.

Anyone with information should call DC James Cassedy on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
