Assault case: man in court

A Great Cornard man has appeared in court accused of three offences of assault.

Wayne Hudgell, 38, of Bures Road, is alleged to have committed the offences on July 15.

He is charged with two offences of assault by beating and one of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

On Thursday, October 27, Hudgell appeared for a preliminary hearing at Ipswich Crown Court.

His barrister David Judge said that no pleas were being indicated at this stage.

Judge Rupert Overbury told Hudgell that he would be required to reappear in court on January 6 for a plea and directions hearing.

Until then, Hudgell was granted bail on the condition that he does not contact two named individuals and does not enter Bures Road, Great Cornard, unless accompanied by a police officer.
