No to booze

IMPROMPTU police checks targeting shops and pubs selling alcohol to under-aged buyers has been hailed a success.

Six shops and licensed premises in Hadleigh were visited by underage volunteers looking to buy alcohol on Friday.

In each case, the volunteers were refused alcohol.

Pc Matt Paisley said: “The test purchase operation was a success as it shows that premises that sell alcohol in Hadleigh are being responsible and obeying the law.

This is good news. Well done to the retailers of Hadleigh. I'm not so sure the same could be said of those in Sudbury. Name and Shame.
