Money scam warning

PEOPLE across the county are being conned out of money by computer scams, according to police.

Suffolk Police say they have received a number of calls regarding a computer fixing scam and are warning residents to remain vigilant.

In one incident a victim of the scam - which involves fraudsters calling a household and claiming the victim has a problem with their computer, before requesting money to fix it - paid out £100.

Police are advising people not to provide personal information to anyone over the telephone, unless they are certain of who they are speaking to.

Anyone who has been targeted by the scams should call Suffolk Police on 101.
