Fraud: Man, 52, arrested

A HALSTEAD man has been arrested as part of a fraud investigation.

The 52-year-old was arrested on suspicion of fraud and money laundering, along with two other men from Ipswich, on Wednesday.

The arrests came after the Pensions Regulator received complaints about the apparent fraudulent transfer of pensions last year, and a joint investigation was launched by the regulator along with Suffolk Police, HM Revenue and Customs and the Financial Services Authority.

The man was questioned at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre and released on police bail on Thursday to return to the centre on July 11, pending further inquiries.
