Case dropped against dead Sudbury man

A SUDBURY man found dead in the River Stour had been due to stand trial for handling stolen goods.

Lee Hill, 36, from Ballingdon Street, had been missing for five days before his body was discovered close to Ballingdon Bridge on Friday, August 10.

On July 27, he had appeared in court to deny handling a stolen laptop belonging to Geoffrey Turner.

He was scheduled to appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

The case has been discharged.
