Great Cornard junior parkrun welcomed Suffolk County Councillor Peter Beer as its starter recently.
The run take place over a 2km course at Great Cornard Sports Centre every Sunday at 9am and is free of charge for children aged between four and 14.
Since the event started at the end of May, 352 children have taken part.
Councillor Beer made a contribution of £300 from his locality budget to pay for the cost of a shed to store equipment and for some additional equipment.
Robert Edge, event director at Great Cornard junior parkrun said: “We’re extremely grateful to councillor Beer. The support we’ve had from in terms of runners and volunteers has been fantastic.”
