A SPRING concert – featuring music from a deaf composer – will be held in Sudbury next weekend.
Organised by Sudbury Choral Society, the concert will take place in St Peter’s at 7.30pm on Saturday, April 30.
During the concert, soprano soloist Julie Roberts, along with a supporting orchestra, will perform music from the Bavarian Highlands by Elgar, John Rutter’s Magnificat and Benedicite by Vaughan Williams, who, like Beethoven, was deaf.
A collection will be made following the concert for the Suffolk Deaf Association.
Tickets for the concert are available from Compact Music in North Street, Sudbury, or the Tourist Information Centre at the town hall, choir members, or on the door, for £10 or £3 for children.
Sudbury Choral Society will also be holding a “Come and Sing” morning in Friars Hall, Sudbury, on Saturday, May 7, from 10am to 1pm.
