Hard graft and splashes of colour have helped reinvigorate a playground at Long Melford Primary School.
The early years play area at the school had been more accustomed to storing equipment than encouraging fun in recent years.
But last week, workers from Nestlè Purina Pet Care in Sudbury gave it a much-needed makeover.
“Nestlè approached us about the project and we asked the children what they wanted,” said headteacher Paula Hagan.
“It has been used as a storage area but the children wanted lots of colour and flowers on the walls.”
After two days’ work, the playground now has a new brighter look and can be accessed more easily.
It also has blackboards for writing on, a sand tray and easel for painting.
“It is much more child-friendly and the children love it,” said Mrs Hagan.
“They all want to play out there and we have to remind them that there is another playground.”
Mrs Hagan said the school was extremely grateful for the Sudbury company’s help.
“They were fantastic and brought all the equipment and paint,” she said. “We would not have been able to do it as quickly without them.”
