Babergh District Council has announced that it has met targets for the number of homes and jobs added in the district.
The figures were explained in the council’s annual planning report.
“Planning performance has improved over the last year,” said councillor Peter Beer, chairman of the authority’s planning committee.
“We have added to the supply of homes and jobs for the district.
“We are now above the Government’s national targets in both these areas, although we appreciate we are just below in respect of the category relating to single and small groups of homes.
“We are working to put measures in place to address this.
“The service is undergoing change and we are concentrating on further improvements that should aid the delivery of development proposals.”
