Staff from Delphi Diesel Systems in Sudbury who completed a 20-mile charity cycle in September handed over a cheque for £2,006 to St Nicholas Hospice Care on Tuesday.

More than 30 employees from the Newton Road site tackled the ride from the factory to Monks Eleigh and back, with the group finishing in around three hours.

The firm chose to raise funds for the Bury St Edmunds-based hospice, which supports people with life-threatening illnesses and their families, after a member of staff’s wife became seriously ill recently.

Hospice fundraiser Abby Mayes collected the cheque from what is hoped will become an annual event.
