Organisers of a concert to commemorate the First World War are hoping local residents will lend their mementoes, memories and war memorabilia for a special exhibition.

On November 7, Clare will hold a special concert in Clare Parish Church to commemorate the war.

Contributors will include students from Stour Valley Community School, players from the Quay Theatre in Sudbury, Saffron Walden Town Band and the Treble C Choir.

There will also be a community singing of songs from the war time era at the concert which costs £7 for adults and £5 for under 16s.

Organisers would also like to set up an exhibition, with families or friends of those that fought or involved in the conflict loaning diaries, letters, medals, photos or sharing their memories.

The performance will raise funds for the Royal British Legion and Combat Stress.
