Families from across Suffolk came together at Sudbury Town Hall on Wednesday to officially become UK citizens.

A total of 36 people, joined by their families and friends, descended on Sudbury’s register office, which moved from Cornard Road in May, for the group ceremony led by Robin Upton, deputy lieutenant of Suffolk, having completed all the Home Office’s requirements.

Wendy Warren, registrar, said: “We had people from all over, including the USA, South Africa and India. Everybody loved it and really enjoyed the ceremony.”

The register office caters for all registrations, including births, marriages and deaths. For more information, call 01787 314050.
