Former science teacher Chris Wiles decided to set up his own photography business after friends suggested he should sell the pictures he took.
Chris, whose first ever job was at Sudbury Upper School in the 1980s, did photography as a hobby.
But after moving back to Sudbury from London three years ago, he decided to set up his own company and, as well as doing weddings and portfolio pictures of models, has produced an annual charity calendar on Sudbury.
This year, 54-year-old Chris, of Friars Street, turned his attention to helping male cancer charities after a friend was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
He said: “I always do a calendar for charity, so I had the idea that I could do a calendar to support male cancer charities.
“I wanted to do something because a friend of mine had prostate cancer – thankfully he has now recovered.
“It’s the sort of thing which doesn’t get talked about much, and I also wanted to raise awareness of the condition. It’s good to do something to help.”
Mr Wiles says the models all gave their time and effort for free. “The theme of the calendar is wrestling,” he said. “It’s in black and white to stress the seriousness of the disease.”
The £10 calendar is available to pre-order from www.chriswilesphotography.com.
