Sudbury Choral Society is holding a quiz to help boost funds.
As well as performing large scale choral works its programmes feature a wide variety of music from Bach to the Beatles, with around 70 members of varying ages and abilities taking part.
The choir gives four concerts a year frequently with an orchestra and professional soloists in St Peter’s Sudbury.
Each member of the choir pays £100 a year to cover some of the costs which involves hiring music, paying the conductor and accompanist and hiring solo singers and instrumentalists to play in an orchestra for some concerts. This usually costs about £4,000 per concert.
The club raises money in various ways, including running a small choir, Choir 4 Hire, which sings at events.
This year the group is holding a general knowledge team quiz on Saturday, October 15 at 7.30pm at St Peter’s, Sudbury.
Teams are a maximum of eight people, £5 per person.
You can take your own picnic and drinks for the interval. Alternatively The Codfather will deliver fish and chips to the event.
