A GROUP of Beaver Scouts were given an insight into policing during a visit to Sudbury Police Station.

The children – aged between six and seven from Bures Beavers – were given a tour of the station, shown inside the cells and had their fingerprints taken.

Sudbury District Beaver leader Margaret Hotchkiss said: “They had a great time and learned what would happen if they were to do something naughty.”

During the evening, the children also got the chance to look round a police van and try out its blue lights and siren.

Sudbury Pc Chris Garrod said: “The children had a really great time and learned more about the service we provide.

“Some of the children enjoyed themselves so much they said they wanted to be a policeman or woman when they grew up.”
