A CENTRE which supports adults with learning disabilities has revealed plans to open a continental-style cafe.
The Sudbury Resource Centre, on the Chilton Industrial Estate, is planning to have a canopy built over its courtyard area to create a garden cafe with outside seating.
The plans are at an early stage and costs are still being calculated but money raised during a year-long fundraising appeal in aid of the centre will go towards the scheme. It is hoped the extension could be open early next year.
Centre manager Marion Corner said: “We have been thinking of ways we can take the service forward and offer more opportunities for the people that attend, and we believe this could provide us with the perfect solution.
“We are hoping it will make the centre more viable in the long term and it dovetails with the Lite Bite Cabin in Belle Vue Park, which we run through the summer months.
“Hopefully the cafe will draw plenty of custom and will be a great success.”
