Nethergate Brewery in Pentlow, near Clare and Penny Wilby, from local marketing business thebestof Sudbury, have brewed 5,600 pints of beer to sell in free trade pubs around Sudbury and Suffolk and at LeeStock Music Festival on May 28 and 29.

Their aim is to raise over £1,000 for the Willow Foundation. Nethergate, thebestof Sudbury and the organisers of LeeStock held a competition in April, to choose a name for the charity beer. With over 130 entries submitted and hours of discussion, Golden Willow was the winning name, suggested by Michelle Collins, from Sudbury, who also won 2 tickets to the Festival.

To celebrate the creation of this hoppy golden ale, 4% ABV, the beer will be officially launched on May 21 at the Waggon & Horses in Sudbury from 6pm.

There will be a raffle with a great selection of prizes, including a spa day from Stoke by Nayland, tickets to LeeStock, a voucher for Indian Sudbury and many more. Everyone is welcome.

Golden Willow will be on sale in pubs across the region.
