A successful youth club is looking for a new leader and chairman.

The club at Acton also needs volunteers to help organise activities for its 30-plus members.

Committee member Jack Ingram said: “It’s very successful and has been going for more than five years.

“We are looking for a new leader, who will be paid out of club funds, and also someone to replace our chairman who has recently stepped down.

“The leader’s job involves attending every meeting, and running activities. They would need to have knowledge of working with children. More adult volunteers are also needed.”

Children aged from seven to 13 can join the club, which meets at Acton Village Hall from 5.30pm to 7.45pm on Monday evenings in term time.

New members are welcome. “We have loads of facilities, all kinds of games, and a tuck shop,” said Jack.

“They get a free trial session, and after that it costs £1.50 a week.”

Jack, 16, is one of two on the five-strong committee who is still at school and used to be a youth club member. The other is 15-year-old Sian Lawson.
